The City of DeBary announces the availability of grant funds for the replacement of non-conforming signs!
The City of DeBary announces the opening of the Fiscal Year 2015/2016 Sign Beautification Grant Cycle! City Council has implemented a matching grant program to encourage business owners to replace non-conforming signs with conforming signs. The City’s Land Development Code was amended in 2012 to require all non-conforming signs be brought into compliance by 2017.
In order to encourage the replacement of non-conforming signs the grant provides a sliding scale of assistance with the highest level of assistance in the first year and gradually declining until 2017. In the first year, the City contributed 90% of the cost of a new sign up to a maximum of $5,000. This fiscal year, the City will contribute 65% of the cost of a new sign up to $5,000. In FY 2017/2018, monies for signs will revert back to a one-to-one dollar match. So…
Come in and apply for grant funds to replace your non-conforming sign. Create a high quality image for your business while helping to beautify the City!
Applications are available at City Hall or on-line at debary.org. Grants will be awarded on a first come, first qualified, first serve basis until funds for the fiscal year are depleted. Applications will be accepted at City Hall from April 1 through May 31, 2016.
